strange.
it's 9:15am and i don't have any kids around me.
nope, not summer vaca yet. yesterday we had a tornado warning in the area (pretty scary!) and as a result, p.g.county schools are closed today! with 3 days left in school, it's kinda odd. nevertheless, i'm thankful for the extra day to clean up my mess of a classroom :)
rents are in vancouver today...lucky ducks!

talking pets
I always thought that it would be fun to have a parrot for a pet...even though they kind of freak me out. (It's bird eyes, I think.) The following article confirmed my initial thought even more:
How cool is that? It's also funny to think that the parrot learned to speak Japanese. Kinda reminds me of how Syun told me that she always feels like Baby Samantha won't understand her unless she speaks to her in Korean. It also makes me wonder if that makes Kitty bilingual...or even trilingual?? Man, she is growing up in a privileged household. I knew she was spoiled!

1. I just sneezed about 5 times in a row...maybe I'm allergic to my students? haha
2. Muy excited about playing tennis this afternoon. Considering the number of years I've considered tennis to be a fun, stress-relieving, recreational activity, you'd expect me to be much, much better. But sadly, I'm often the one hitting the ball at heights and depths that would make a baseball player envious. Luckily, my tennis-playing co-worker is very forgiving.
3. CAN YOU BELIEVE: only 17 more days of school left?! I cannot. Actually, if I get approved for my requested personal days, it's technically only 15 more days for me. Crazy!
4. My sister is a punk. Someone more convincing than me should talk her into walking the stage for graduation! Punk.
5. I am craving Pad Thai... mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

new month, new monthly post.
haha. I'm so bad at this.
Today is a day to celebrate--such a good day...so far :) I'm on my lunch break, quickly wolfing down a school salad before I go gather my chickies.
I just realized that people who read what I write online might come to the conclusion that I never had bad days...but in reality, I don't like to publish what I write when I'm not in a good mood.
Reasons to Smile Today:
*Woke up on time :)
*No traffic! whatsoever! Smooth-sailing this morning...
*A dozen roses from a parent waiting for me in the classroom
*Spontaneous hug from a non-huggy person
*The A/C is on! hallllllelujah!
*My "Barbie" nails- slick hot pink lacquer with purple flowers...sucha girl...
*Tree63 goodness over the radio
*Prepped the coffee maker this morning but realized too late that it wasn't plugged in. All this energy--purely non-caffeinated, baby. :-P
